Interesting, to me at least, is the ancient Greeks did not have a specific word for creativity. But they did have the word ‘poiein’ ( which means ‘to make’) applied specifically to ‘poiesis’ (‘poetry’) and the ‘poietes’ (‘poet’ or ‘maker’).
Today there are many synonyms for poet including versifier, rhymester, lyricist, sonneteer and troubadour. Do you have a favorite term for poet?
