Are we a blank state? I disagree, there is no blank slate. We never start with nothing since we are all composites of what came before us. Today is the continuation of yesterday. My brain is a collection of neurons and the synapses that result. This moment is filled with energy from multiple sources.

Love your provocative questions, Dr B. I’m agnostic about reincarnation but do subscribe to Carl Jung’s theories on archetypes AND the genetic and cultural inheritances we receive at birth.
Also, I was fortunate to attend a workshop on “deconstructing the self” which really opened my eyes to the fact that what I thought was unique to me was really a cultural experience held by many others. What we don’t inherit we quickly acquire (i.e., not nature versus nurture but nature and nurture).
